Complementary Programs Implemented by Trinity Bay State High School, Qld

2004

Adolescents Coping with Emotions (ACE)
The school targeted identified individuals from Years 8 and 9 to participate in this program.

Seasons for Growth
Seasons for Growth was implemented with a targeted group of Years 8 and 9 students identified as needing support in dealing with loss and grief.

HeartMasters
All Year 8 students access this program through their Health and Physical Education lessons. The school developed handouts from its two-day workshop in 2003 and distributed them to all teachers. They found that those teachers who adopted the strategies taught in the program noticed improvement in the behaviour of their students and those who did not apply the strategies found no change. It was shown that, over time, students involved in the program exhibited habitual use of the language taught in the program.

Resourceful Adolescence Program - Adolescence (RAP - A)
The school continues to offer this program to all Year 9s through its Health and Physical Education lessons.

2003

HeartMasters
The school has received positive feedback from using the resource with students from Years 8 to 10. It held a two-day intensive workshop with 22 students.

Resourceful Adolescence Program - Adolescence (RAP - A)
RAP - A was implemented as a universal approach through Year 9 Health and Physical Education lessons.
