Berengarra School, Glen Waverley, Vic

The same group of educators that founded the Currajong School a year earlier established Berengarra School in 1976. Berengarra is a non-profit coeducational school that provides innovative educational programs to meet the individual needs of adolescents with social and emotional problems.

The school aims to break the cycle of failure and skill students for responsible participation within the community. The programs focus on the development of self-esteem and resilience through emphasising areas of strength, strengthening basic learning skills and the development of self-understanding.

The staff have considerable experience working with a range of social–emotional difficulties, including Asperger's syndrome, Tourette syndrome, anxiety and depression, school refusal and conduct disorders.
