Curriculum Corporation (CC) appreciates the importance of protecting personal information that identifies the users of its websites. This privacy statement sets out CC’s policy for dealing with personal information that users of the ‘Website’ may disclose to it, intentionally or unintentionally, when they:

  • submit case studies for the MindMatters program;
  • subscribe to MindMatters Online;
  • submit material for publication in the MindMatters newsletter;

Data collected from users who browse the Website

When a user accesses the Website to view or download information either CC or its Internet Service Provider automatically makes a record of the user’s visit and logs the following information about the user:

  • top-level domain name
  • date and time of visit
  • pages accessed and documents downloaded
  • time spent on individual pages and the site overall
  • previous site visited
  • browser and operating system.

Use of browsing data

Data obtained from the browsing activities of users of the Website will be used only to maintain a record of general user activity on the Website and to monitor the popularity of various sections of the Website.

Electronic submission form

Users of the Website who elect to submit case studies for MindMatters are required to complete an electronic submission form providing information about the following:

Case-study related information

  • Name of school
  • Description of school
  • MindMatters leadership team
  • Involvement with community
  • MindMatters issue/s focused on
  • Brief description of the program, activity or project
  • Goals or aims of the program, activity or project
  • The results, including any unexpected ‘spin-offs’ of the program, activity or project
  • Contributing factors to the success of the program, activity or project
  • Problems encountered with the program, activity or project
  • Advice for other MindMatters teams
  • Date of case study submission.

Users may also give permission to publish their case study on the MindMatters Website by ticking the appropriate box.

  • First name and surname of school principal
  • First name and surname of contact (person who submitted the case study)
  • Email address of contact
  • Telephone number of contact.

Any information collected from users of the Website who submit case studies through the electronic submission form will be used only as follows:

  • Case studies that describe some of the ways in which schools approached mental health promotion within their local community and the difficulties and successes they encountered will be published on this Website.
  • Published case studies will only mention the name of the school that submitted the case study. CC will not publish or release any personal names submitted in the case study or the name of the person who submitted the case study.
  • A representative of CC will telephone any person who submits a case study to confirm the authenticity and/or authorship of the material.

Users of the Website who elect to subscribe to MindMatters Online are required to complete an electronic submission form providing the following information:

  • Given name and family name
  • Email address
  • Organisation or school
  • State or Territory and country of residence.

Use of information collected from subscription form

CC will use information provided by users who subscribe to MindMatters Online to assist them with providing services that suit such users’ interests. The information will not be distributed to any external organisation or individual.

Information collected from users who contribute to the MindMatters newsletter

CC will collect the following information from users who submit material for the MindMatters newsletter:

  • Email address
  • First name and surname of contributor*
  • Date of article submission.

* Denotes optional information.

Use of information collected from newsletter contributors

CC may publish articles of interest submitted by users of the MindMatters Website. The names of users who contribute to the newsletter will only be published with the prior permission of each contributor. CC will not release the email addresses of users who have submitted material for the newsletter.

Information collected from users who provide feedback about the MindMatters Website

Users of the MindMatters Website may provide feedback about its content by completing the electronic submission form. CC will collect the following information:

  • First name and surname
  • Organisation
  • Email address
  • Information about user’s involvement in MindMatters in schools
  • User’s comments about the Website.

Curriculum Corporation will use feedback information provided by users of the MindMatters Website to ensure that the Website content is relevant and useful. The information will not be shared with any external organisation or individual.
