The Iwantja Indulkana Anangu Story
Synopsis

MindMatters began a relationship with Iwantja Indulkana Anangu School in 2004. Through professional development training offered to school staff and the wider community, followed up by a Student Wellbeing Day, MindMatters explored how mental health and wellbeing can be strengthened within the school in partnership with the community. The process has highlighted the strengths of the community, and its commitment to their children being culturally strong.

Background to the school
Iwantja Indulkana Anangu School

Indulkana Anangu School is one of nine Anangu Education schools in South Australia. Located in the Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara lands, approximately 1,300 km north-west of Adelaide, the school has approximately 80 students from Years 1 to 12.
The school is the major focus of the community because of its love of their children and desire to see the best happen for them. The school is run by a governing council.
