Body Language
How does your body language affect others? At morning tea or lunch, experiment by folding your arms or turning slightly away while talking with someone, or make some other small, potentially negative, changes to your behaviour. Do you see similar stances reflected or changes in the conversation that follows?
Explain to the other person that you were curious about what happens when you behave in such a way. Try discussing the importance of body language and beliefs. Look around the group. What is the body language of each group member at the moment? Observe other people on staff.
When you next have an opportunity, have 'a nice, real, serious and fun conversation' with a work group about body language. Discuss what positive body language is, and the importance of adopting it.
