Language and Mantras

This week have 'a nice, real and serious fun conversation' with your work group.

Discuss:

  • When things go right, what does this group say?
  • When things go wrong, what does this group say?
  • What are our group jokes?
  • Do we have a mantra as a group?
  • Is our language positive or negative?
  • Does anyone get negatively affected by the conversations we have?

Often positive people and groups have a saying that plays through their mind - and it is a positive, affirming one. They are also able to label events, even ones that have not gone well, in a way that doesn't attribute blame and takes the best from the event.

The way you respond to others also sets the expectations for both you and them.

If you were the group coach, what would be a good motivating phrase?
