Activity - End of Day Tally
At the end of the day, before you rush off to a meeting, home, to the gym or out, take one minute and write down the things you have achieved and learnt today. Spend two seconds thinking of one thing you want to remember to do a little differently. Spend four seconds saying 'well done' to yourself for how it went. If you learn best by writing, actually try writing the words 'well done'. If you feel like it, say it out loud. And on the way out, say 'well done' to someone else.
Sometimes we don't realise there are a lot of achievements in doing 'the ordinary' - the things we take for granted. Here are some things to which we could say 'well done'.
I was 'present' in all lessons.
I talked to the student who challenges me the most. I was well prepared for the last two lessons.
I enjoyed being out on yard duty today - I took several really deep breaths to relax out there.
I had morning tea with other staff.
I have worked through half of my marking.
I caught up with the counsellor about my student and asked how things were going.
I found time to book rooms and buses for next month's event.
