Activity - Mantras

Do a quick mental check. When things go right, what do you say to yourself? When things go wrong, what do you say to yourself? Do you have a mantra? When people ask how you are, what is your characteristic expression?

Often positive people have a saying that plays through their mind - and it is a positive, affirming one. They are also able to label events, even ones that have not gone well, in a way that doesn't attribute blame and takes the best from the event. The way you respond to others also sets the expectations for both you and them. Try these.

  • How are you? - still shining, brilliant, in the flow, looking good, famous
  • Mantras - how can I improve this, one step at a time, think big picture, focus

If you were your own coach, what would be a good motivating phrase?
