Activity - Tasks For The Day

List tomorrow's tasks and goals down on paper. This is usually best done at some stage immediately after work and preferably while at the workplace. Simply write down what needs to be undertaken in the best order for the next day.

Review your time allocation and the likelihood of when and why you will be interrupted. If they are big tasks/goals, cut them back to the absolute essentials. For a school day, this usually means nothing beyond three or five major items.

Break into steps if necessary and don't overcommit. Place the goals/tasks list in your diary or leave on your desk. Go home and take time to relax.

This process is recommended as a way of ensuring major goals/tasks are addressed, but are placed 'on the back burner' which helps with both thinking them through and your relaxation at the same time.

Remember to review how many goals/tasks you set yourself and how much you are interrupted - scale back your goals to the time and resources you have.
