Professional development

The MindMatters professional development program has been designed to complement existing policies for each of the education sectors in Queensland to ensure its relevance to the curriculums of all Queensland secondary schools.
The professional development program recognises that MindMatters is one of a number of resources that facilitate and encourage a whole school approach to promoting positive mental health and wellbeing.

Highlights

In the first eleven years of MindMatters implementation, participants from 84.2% of Queensland schools have attended MindMatters professional development activities. This breaks down to 86.8% of Government schools, 94.7% of Catholic schools and 71.3% of Independent schools.
New professional development activities were added to the MindMatters professional development program in July 2007 after the five external evaluations on MindMatters were conducted. Over 67% of QLD schools have attended these new MindMatters activities.
In 2011, there were 1495 people who participated in 77 MindMatters professional development events across Queensland.
