Curriculum Links
Click on your State or Territory
MindMatters resources have been mapped to curriculum outcomes for each state and territory. Select your state or territory from the list at left, or click on the map to view the relevant curriculum links.
New resources are currently in development and will be mapped to the new national curriculum when it becomes available.
In the original MindMatters resources (published in 2000), curriculum links were made to profile outcomes and strands in the nationally developed Statements and Profiles. These links were printed in each curriculum booklet. Since 2000 each state and territory has redrafted its curriculum framework or syllabuses. The curriculum links on this site have been updated to the current documents.
The curriculum links demonstrate that the MindMatters resource can assist in achieving existing curriculum outcomes while involving students in learning about mental health and wellbeing.
However, users of these links need to be aware that, in most instances, outcomes are achieved over a couple of years. Evidence of achievement should be collected over time and in multiple contexts. Providing one or a series of lesson activities will not guarantee a particular outcome. In most instances, teachers will still need to supplement the learning activities. How the activities are presented will also impact on which learning outcomes are demonstrated. Teachers may present the same activity in very different ways and with different outcomes.
The links made with MindMatters materials are provided to guide curriculum planning. Teachers may have varying opinions about the links that are made. The selection of materials to support the delivery of curriculum is the responsibility of the teacher.
