Adolescent development (students)

It’s important that students understand the typical challenges faced during adolescence and the type of skills they require – but how can you highlight this in the classroom?

Adolescent development – Module to use with students

In this module designed specifically for use with students, the realities and challenges of growing up are explored through facilitated classroom activities. The content of these activities covers the physical and mental changes that occur during adolescence and introduces the concept of resilience. An animated video created for a student audience is used within the activities and encourages young people to consider their own experiences of adolescence.

During the activities, students learn important concepts about adolescent development and are introduced to websites and mental health organisations where they can go for more information and support. The module resources include a student handout and a teacher guide to provide structure and guidance for running the activities in the classroom.
